For the Mt. Fuji Climb, "10 km" actually refers to 10 "stations" rather than distance in kilometers.

Though I am the least experienced of the three of us on this trip, one thing I plan to avoid is being a burden. Knowing that people are following the tour and offering their support will be a big help. But the final motivation, hopefully the extra push I need to get over those towering peaks, will be the knowledge that I'm doing this to help others.

I've finally figured out a way to join my love for cycling with my desire to help my fellow man. This June, join me as I cycle across the Japanese Alps to The Sea of Japan coast. I'd like to use this tour as an opportunity to discover new things about my adopted country as well as raise money for helping people obtain access to clean water in Cambodia. Please take a moment to make a pledge and sponsor me while I struggle to cycle across some of the highest peaks in Japan. I have been dreaming of this trip for ten years and after a faulty start to the year health wise, I am back on the bike and training. This is a personal journey for me, and my greatest physical challenge for some time. Every day will see some serious climbs as we have to cross several ranges and many mountain passes. But the challenges I will face pale in insignificance to the challenges that families who I know personally in Cambodia face every day. Although I am taking personal holiday for this trip, and it is not an official HOPE Initiative, I want to use it to help these families I know by name in Cambodia who are waiting for wells.
