I caught a glimpse of Mt Fuji from the Shinkansen. It was absolutely beautiful. I've been anxious to see the view from the top of the mountain ever since then. Raising money for the different charities while I climb makes it even better!

We had a chance to make our lives better, but I know that many other families don't have any chance to improve their lives. Why do I want to climb Mt. Fuji?
I have lived in Japan for a total of 5 years, in 2 stints.
The first time I lived in Nagasaki in Kyushu and because of the distance, only dreamt of climbing. Now twenty years later, I live in Nagoya with the prospect to climb Mt. Fuji this year. Although is it is a personal goal and a unique, individual opportunity, this will be a climb not just for myself but to support the work, mission and ministry of HOPE International, raising money to provide opportunity for life out of poverty for countless individuals. There is a Japanese adage that suggests, "If you never climb Mt Fuji you are a fool, and if you climb it more than once you are a fool." My goal is to transform that saying, "I want to be a fool in Christ and climb for others." Thank you for giving generously as I climb.

This is my first year in Japan and climbing Mt. Fuji is my first "mountain climbing" experience. Even though I know it is not an easy journey but I am motivated and proud that every steps I climb will be able to help someone, somewhere out there to have a better life.
